kennyhammer asked:

Why does it seem like everyone is getting so worked up over re-starting books to a new #1? I have been reading and collecting Marvel books for over 20 years; times change and if it's gonna help a book sell better to start over, re-launch or whatever, with a new #1 I'm all for it!

brevoortformspring answered:

Glad to hear it! For whatever reason, this is a contentious point with comic book readers.

Here’s why it bothers me.  Because I have 26 boxes of comics now and it’s a giant pain in the ass to keep track of these things when the numbering is so inconsistent.  X-Factor vol. 1 #1-149 great.  X-Factor vol. 2 #1-49 ok that’s fine… wait why are we back to X-Factor vol. 1 #200?  Where do I put that?  And don’t even get me started with Iron Man when they decided to go back to the original numbering simply because they were nearing 600 issues.  There were like 5 different volumes of Iron Man and now it all goes back to vol 1?

If it’s all a ploy to get me to switch to digital it’s working, I’m down to like 9 floppies a month.
